"Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us" - Hebrews 12:1
From Horses to Heaven

Wow! The Lord is really moving! Hallelujah! J He is using the simple, natural things of this world to teach His awesome spiritual truths, just as He did when He used parables to teach the multitudes. That’s where the horse comes in. And what a noble creature to use! To have a good foundation, whether you’re working with a horse or working with the Lord, we must start first with building a relationship. Luke 6:47-48: Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. As that relationship gets stronger, we develop trust. Trust is the key in your relationship with the Lord as well as the horse if you want to safely and enjoyably accomplish the goals and adventures that you dream of and to fulfill your God-given destiny. Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. As I’ve worked with horses over the years, I’ve seen awesome similarities between building a relationship with a horse and building a relationship with Jesus Christ. All relationships take time, patience, gentleness, consistency and a listening ear. A true, trusting relationship has never been built by harsh methods, unkind words and/or rushing through the lessons being taught. As we build our relationship with Jesus, through the reading of His Word, prayer, etc., He teaches us the things we need to know, step by step. Never at out-of-control turbo speed, never harshly. Matthew 11:29-30: Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My load is light; Luke 16:10 - He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. Our foundation in our relationship with Jesus must be so secure and trusting, that when the challenges of life come, we are not moved or shaken. Likewise, if you’re out on the trail and meet up with a rattlesnake, that horse’s trust must be so tight with you that, even though he sees that snake, he’s still looking to you for direction. John 16:33: These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. In this Program, I use basic training techniques and horsemanship to communicate the Word of God. I always follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as to what He wants me to do, specifically. He knows who is going to be present at whatever venue we’re called to be in and He knows what they need to hear that day. He’s always Faithful and it’s always exciting! I am so excited that He has called me to offer this Program, along with our Music Ministry. A dream come true! It’s just one more way that the Lord has opened the door to glorify Him! --SHARA J
